Safari Surf has been teaching the art of surfing for over 13 years and many of our more than 15,000 guests have been families with children who visit us to learn how to surf, to enjoy Costa Rica, and to have a fun, relaxing family vacation.

Many of the parents let us know their children had such an amazing time visiting Costa Rica with us and learning from our instructors that we decided to create a kid’s camp! Not only are we teaching the kids how to surf, but we are immersing them in multiple cultures as well…the surf culture and the Costa Rican culture too! It’s the perfect option for families because it allows parents to have some “quality time” together while their kids are enjoying the surf, beach, and fun activities with Safari Surf instructors!

1/2 Day Camp $125 (3 hours) Full Day Camp $210 (6.5 hours) 10% discount per sibling when with same surf instructor (max 3 to 1 ratio). All materials, food, and equipment provided.

Our Kid’s Camp program offers a variety of activities for the kiddos to enjoy while you are off playing or relaxing by the pool! Here is a sample of some of the awesome activities we have planned for the kids:

At the beach:

  • Surf lesson (of course!)
  • Beach Soccer
  • Sand Castle Contest
  • Tide Pool excursion
  • Beach Volleyball
  • Hunting for crabs and “clamming”
  • Beach excursion to find natural art items (drift wood, shells, seed pods)
  • River or beach fishing (advance notice needed)
  • Spanish immersion
At the Olas Verdes facility:

  • Art projects with beach items
  • Pizza making
  • Surf videos
  • Board games
  • Swimming pool
  • Spanish immersion
  • Snacks and / or lunch

Most importantly, our local Costa Rican instructors teach the campers some introductory Spanish while they are having fun. It’s a great way to immerse your child in another culture while they are learning to surf and enjoying the cool activities provided! The instructors also bring their kids to participate at times with the Kid’s Camp group, which is another fun way to cross cultures! Safari Surf Kid’s Camp will also educate your young ones on the need for us all to be considerate of our environment, helping them understand how important it is to keep our beaches and oceans clean. We do this in a fun and entertaining way!
