Safari Surf is stoked to partner with the leader in surf philanthropy, SurfCredits, which is an innovative nonprofit organization.

Their philosophy is simple – you donate to local organizations near your favorite surf spots around the world and they’ll get you amazing deals on the surf gear you need!

surfcredits-logoGiving itself is cool. But lets face it, you probably have a huge collection of rubber wrist bands, keychains and water bottles. With SurfCredits you can donate and actually get something that you want in return! Donate $25 to help provide clean water to communities and get rewarded for your generosity with discounts on surf gear!

In return for your purchase, you’ll get one or both of the following:

  • A $25 shopping credit with SPY Optics! (Shipping not included.)
  • For any purchase of a SurfCredit during the contest period and until the end of November, the purchaser’s name will be entered in a digital raffle for a week’s stay with Safari Surf for two! (Airfare not included. Winner announced November 30th & notified by email.)

Surfing Nosara Foundation

The Surfing Nosara Foundation is a volunteer-based, registered non-profit in Costa Rica, ID# 3-006-616731. Their mission is to improve the lives of the residents of Nosara and surrounding areas by affecting change in the public schools and the community ‘one project at a time.’

Not only are we at Safari Surf providing a week’s stay for two in Nosara, Costa Rica, but going forward, we will be purchasing a SurfCredit for every single guest that books their packages. Safari Surf is the first surf travel company to offer this level of support for SurfCredits, and we’re hoping it catches on!

SurfCredit Breakdown

Programs – 80%
80% of your surf credit purchase goes to support sustainable surf tourism programs. More than two thirds of this goes to our partner organizations in destinations. Just under a third goes to support sustainable surf tourism research and programs through the Center for Surf Research and Surf Resource Network.

Administration – 20%
The remaining 20% enables iJourneyGreen to administer the SurfCredits program and make sure surfers can support sustainable surf tourism AND get deals on the gear they need in return.

SurfCredits is the brainchild of two organizations that support sustainable travel and responsible tourism practices: iJourneyGreen and the Center for Surf Research at San Diego State University.
